Herbs for Hormone Balance

Hormonal shifts are a natural part of life — whether you’re moving through your cycle, navigating the postpartum period, or simply feeling a little “off.” These fluctuations can affect everything from your energy levels to your mood, sleep, and digestion.

As a naturopath, I often see how herbal medicine can help restore balance gently and effectively, without the need for harsh interventions. The following herbs have been traditionally used to support hormone health and overall wellbeing, and you’ll find many of them in our Mayde Tea blends.

Nettle: Packed with iron, calcium, and minerals, nettle is a powerhouse for replenishing energy and supporting recovery. It’s particularly helpful after your cycle, when nutrient stores may be lower. You’ll find nettle in our Adapt blend.

Lemon Balm: Often described as a “soft exhale” for your nervous system, lemon balm is calming, soothing, and wonderful for easing PMS-related mood swings. This gentle herb is a key ingredient in our Nursing blend, supporting emotional balance alongside physical recovery.

Raspberry Leaf: Traditionally used to support uterine tone, raspberry leaf is well-regarded for its role in both menstrual health and gentle postpartum care. It’s rich in nutrients and offers long-term support for reproductive wellness.

Chamomile: Best known for its calming effects, chamomile also helps soothe period cramps and promote deeper, more restful sleep. We’ve included chamomile in our Serenity blend.

Finding Your Balance

Whether you’re premenstrual, postpartum, or simply seeking a little more harmony in your day-to-day life, incorporating these herbs can help you feel more grounded and supported. Herbal tea offers a simple, delicious way to introduce them into your routine, turning a cup of tea into a daily act of self-care.
